A Blessed Reading

Mr. Smith: I have deleted your previous comment from my space as it was inappropriate and very uncalled for. This new one is not much of a improvement. I am truly sorry that you are a troubled soul and feel the need to build your esteem by taunting others with your acerbic wit and practical jokes. I think I am like most others on spaces and would say that while we enjoy humor and fun, there are boundaries to which one must contain themselves. You continually seem to broach them.

I feel in you some very troubled waters and can offer you no solace. That you must seek and achieve on your own. What I can do is give you quick six card spread to help you identify what areas are within you that need weakened and strengthening. This card layout is called the pentacle spread with a centre card that represents you, with two cards below, one on either side of you, and finally a crown card above you. I will explain their meanings as we go along.

Your centre card is the King of Pentacles: You are an unabashed capitalist and material driven person. Success is your game and you meet failure with steely nerve and clenched fists with the idea of breaking down the wall of resistance. That we get a pentacles card in a pentacles spread just magnifies the intensity of feeling for these personal traits. You are 100% human ambition and obstacles either get out of your way or you walk around them. Unfortunately there are always obstacles that don't move or move with you impeding your path and this creates in you intense feelings of frustration and anger often causing you to reach out and punish the most expedient thing or person at hand. It could be said that you live by the code of my way or the highway. The rest of the cards in this reading spoke into this one.

Your card below you and to the right is the card of childhood: Here we get Justice one of the major arcana and one of the four moral cards. It tells me that you grew up and were cultivated by the mind. That those around you practiced and taught lessons of virtue and justice. You were instilled with lessons of rational thought and reflective judgment based not on feelings but fact and ethical principles. Your parents were passionate about their causes and instilled those feeling in you with the full understanding that passion is active feeling, not raw emotion. you grew up battling for Justice realizing that unless you respect fairness and truth as valuable ethical principles all can get lost in the likeability of human relationships and distorted. Yet I sense you have lost that feeling for fairplay in the world of business. Businessmen demand authority and respect to be successful and you have lost yourself to the cause in pursuit of material wealth. But you have the knowledge and strength of will to break that mold and start a new theory of corporate finesse. You only need to remember your past, then apply it to the present.

Your card below you and to the left is the card of adolescence: This comes up as the Ten of Swords the card of ending. That such a powerful card turns up for the period of childhood to manhood is of great significance. It tells of a time of struggle and change. Of black feelings of stagnation and forced growth. Resistance to life due to forgotten teaching from previous years. I think here is the beginnings of your troubles as you wished to linger longer in childhood while the world was calling you become an adult. But if you find a peace within you can have both worlds and remain childlike holding wonder for the world in adult form. Play is an important part of life and not one to be given up. You need only to find the balance.

Your card directly to your right is the card of recent past: It comes up as the Five of Pentacles the loss card. To have the ending card and now the loss card indicates a long period of time in struggle. I would say you have and continue to have a fight to remain at your station in life. I sense a continuous barrage of business dealings concerning currency and material worth. It is evident that you are in the world of finance and every day is a new day concerning your material station of life. What you must remember is that if you follow the money you may have the money, then what have you? Certainly not a life. The old adage money can’t buy happiness is true. That comes from the soul. I would suggest some time away from business and all matters except the most personal, your immediate mental health. You have the foundations of justice instilled into you as a seed and whether you realize it or not they conflict with many models of business. There are ethical fields of business out there that may not pay as much, but return dividends galore when it comes to the soul.

The card to your left is the coming future: It is the Tower card and one of the major arcane. This card indicates upheaval and turmoil and here I think you need to make a decision regarding the path you take. There is creative destruction and negative destruction. The negative will only keep you on your current path and spiral you down towards the abyss of constant pain. You need not do a thing to invoke this life’s action. The positive can be viewed as destruction before creation. The tearing down of persona and world for a new foundation of betterment. Disassembling the present for the future is never easy and always painful for you encounter the ghosts of mind much like Scrooge did in the Christmas Carol. Its reflective powers are shameful and can make a person want to withdraw from the world and hide. Withdrawal is good, but only with the foreknowledge that reattachment must come at some stage in the future. Many take the path of the bodhisattva and with begging bowl go out into the world alone to look for self and enlightenment. But during this stage pain is your constant companion until one day you wake up and recognize it for what it is. When that happens you will know that you have crossed the threshold to a new beginning.

Your card above you is the crown card: It comes up the Hanged Man another card of the major arcane. This card represents what you can become and is the card for sacrifice for greater good. In it’s negative aspect it is the card of continuing pain. But let us treat it as a positive. It shows us that by breaking up the body and mind something good has grown from the turned soil. That you have given of yourself for something greater and now realize that every process of life requires a breaking up to move forward. You are now living for the experience and pleasure of life fully engaged in the temporal world yet detached to the spiritual from which you draw your energies. You have come to understand that human beings are imperfect, perfectly so, and that out of perfection nothing can be made. You are living from Vishudda the fifth level of the kunalini and perhaps even higher. You are enlightened or are seeking it a steady pace.

I am off to Mexico for a combination or business and pleasure. There have been sightings of an El Chupacabra in a village north-east of Cancun. I will spend a couple of weeks doing some investigating to see what can be found of the deadly beast, and explore other local paranormal activities as well. Plus work a psychic fair in Mexico City. Then meet my wife for a two week vacation in Cancun for relaxation. I may update if I get the chance.

Peace and harmony in this life and the next.

Farewell my fine friend

It has been a harrowing last few days for me as I have spent my nights trying to rid a tavern of a rather pesky poltergeist. Finally after much trial and error and communication and miscommunication I was successful and was able to send this ghost on his way into the light. It is not easy being a paranormal therapist and communicating with the dead, then finding some kind of common ground on which to establish rapport and make headway. I would wager the $500.00 fee that I receive for three nights work that it is tougher than communicating with a living patient. For the dead don’t process information like the living and are often in deep denial of their current state, and phase in and out of time in some kind of cerebral vortex that leaves them with a thinking process that is scrambled and confusing. This particular ghost was a twenty-eight year old Scottish merchant seaman named Enoch Fearcher from the village of Nairn who died in a bar fight in 1896. He stayed on he told me out of revenge, hoping to encounter the two men who took him by surprise and stole his life and repay the favor in kind. It was no easy task convincing him that the year was 2006 and his assailants have long since died themselves. That there will be no revenge for their judgment has been handed down when they themselves died. But in due time and through much talk he finally excepted his fate and made the leap into the light for a peaceful eternity.

I am tired and exhausted but coming back on spaces this morning and visiting a few sites I see there is a great debate over the issue of hoaxes. As a man involved in the paranormal myself I will admit to the use of fakery. But will also insist that this is minor in stature and most instances of purported hoaxes are the result of misunderstanding or a closed mind. Science cannot explain away every event in the world, at least not yet, and I can’t help but think that the events of the last three days would be challenged by internal wind currents or possible ultra sonic deep earth vibrations or some such nonsense. You need a strong wind to topple a tray of glasses, yet it happened before my eyes on numerous occasions and I felt no breeze.

I would also like to say that in a recent Gallup poll it showed that 54% of Americans believe in psychics, 50% in ESP, 42% in haunted houses, 41% in demonic possessions, 38% in ghosts, 36% in telepathy, 32% in clairvoyance, 28% in talking to the dead, and 20% claiming to believe in or having seen an angel. All this shows that there is a mystery out there needing to be solved. That if just over half of the nation believes in psychic occurrences than something larger is going on. Something bigger than science can explain away. Are we to believe that half the American population is delusional in their thinking and experience? I certainly hope not, for not only would we be the most powerful nation on earth, but also the most unstable mentally. Certainly not a good mix. Life is bigger than life and extends into the unknown and we need to keep our minds open to the possibilities and experience. Good morning, and yet goodnight.

Peace and harmony in this life and the next.

Chasing Hairy (part 2)

Down on the ground I was stunned and disoriented from Crank’s body check and looking up at our new visitor I found myself slipping in to a mild fright. I have encountered many different entities over the years but this one was all new and enormous. Mentally I took my system out of shock by using an old tantric meditation method of body stabilization. All this was fast, lightening fast, and happened in seconds.

It is never easy to encounter something new even when you do it for a living and are experienced. Often paranormal investigators and ghost hunters catch a bit of fright dealing with the strange and bizarre, and we are prepared, or as prepared as one can be for these kinds of situations. It is what makes the job interesting, every time is new and challenging.

I raised myself slowly from the ground keeping one handout in front of me in a gesture of friendship and as a buffer incase the creature charged. I had no idea what I would do if he did, for that I would have to rely on instinct and years of seal training plus trust to luck.

Slowly standing I noticed the Bigfoot was just standing on the path staring back at me. He or she for I am still not sure of the sex had a small branch in their left hand which at first I thought might be an impromptu club that could be used to bash my brain in. Then I noticed it was full of berries, and that his mouth was wet with juice. I concluded that we had caught him snacking, and that he must forage for food which would account for his wide range of travel.

He was big at least eight feet in height with dark brown matted fur and leathery looking tan skin for his face. He had an extended brow and one piece thick eyebrows that reminded me of Cro-Magnon man. A shallow wide nose with flared nostrils that extended into a top lip that over hung the bottom one like the eaves of a house, and he smelled like pungent mold. His hands were thick and stubby like those of an ape. And while he is called Bigfoot I never got a good look at his feet as I was locked eye to eye and could only scan so much with the corners of my eyes. His gaze was inquisitive and his dark pupils spoke to me of a soul of peace and brutish kindness. He was an impressive creature, and I wonder if he was sizing us up and thinking about us too.

Out of my peripheral vision I could see the group off behind me some ten yards as I was now in a prepared side stance incase the Bigfoot charged. I could see Crank with his hand on Madame Trinity’s shoulder, and Gunn with his eyes closed in concentration, hand outstretched palm up pointing towards the Bigfoot. I could tell he was trying to communicate with it on some level using his psychic abilities.

The Bigfoot stood erect and threw his shoulders back puffing out his chest and letting out a loud ear piercing guttural cry, then shook himself off like a dog shakes off water and disappeared into the woods with the sound a crackling lumber under his massive feet and weight.

As a group we all breathed a collective sigh of relief and relaxed. We were looking for Bigfoot, but this encounter was of the too close kind and we all knew that we would have preferred some distance. It was only a two minute meeting between man and beast but for months afterwards it gave us hours of talk and companionship.

Later I was to learn that Gunn indeed was trying to communicate with the Bigfoot and could sense from the creature a higher intelligence that was simple in nature but with the beginnings of constructive thought. Even Crank and Madame Trinity threw in their abilities during the encounter with Crank channeling his energies into Madame Trinity and she using hers to erect a kind of mental force field around me and in front of the creature to stop its advance should it move towards me. I was the only one who did nothing, but as Crank reminds me, if need be, I would have been the sacrifice to make good on their escape.

Life is always an adventure.

Chasing Hairy (part 1)

There is an old saying seek and thee shall find, and in one particular instance during my career I wish I would have heeded this old adage with more precautions. During parts of the year I travel with a small psychic fair that sets up shop in different cities for two or three days and we all practice our wares to eke out a living. In our off times many of us like to get together for tea or coffee and discuss the latest happenings in the paranormal field, pass along information on good books to read and just engage in mindless chit-chat. It was at one particular event in Washington state during a tea and coffee debate that one our traveling companions put down a newspaper and pointed out a small little article on page six regarding a Bigfoot sighting in the foothills of Mount Rainer. It wasn’t long before many of the others had the wild idea of taking a brief side trip to this area with the idea of finding the Bigfoot. I signed on with some reluctance as I had a mountain of things I wanted to get done but thought the idea of a hike would be mentally reinvigorating, plus the idea of spotting this particular Bigfoot at the time struck me as remote. I have talked to many Bigfoot experts in the past and they say that once the location is exposed and the tourists come to look, the Bigfoot’s take off for parts unknown. Many believe it is our scent, that we humans give off a repulsive odor to the Bigfoot and when we congregate in large numbers in a small area it becomes very unbearable for them.

There were four of us who made the trip, and our specialties ranged from my gift to communicate with the deceased, to a psychic we call Gunn for his crystal clear sonar like ability to pierce through time and space and get right to the crux of the issue. Madame Trinity the gypsy and fortune teller whose art with the cards, crystals, and other paraphernalia of soothsaying is of the genius kind, and Crank the channeler who is the reincarnate of a Egyptian sage from 500BC. The nickname I have been given is Butch, for my former time and exploits as a navy seal.

There we were all standing in the parking lot of a roadhouse café starring across the highway into the woods and wondering where to start. It was Crank’s wisdom that got us moving as he suggested that we just push straight in as he who hesitates is lost, and so we all just followed along. I made sure I took a compass reading from the side of the highway before we started just so we would be able to find our way back should we get turned around and lose our sense of direction.

Once into the woods it was Gunn who suggested we hike north-east that he could sense something big by a small body of water, perhaps bathing or taking a drink and so we started off in that direction. He was sure the impression was recent, that he was sensing recent time and that once there he could refocus his energies and get a much better reading. It was very tough going as we were pushing through raw bush and trailblazing ourselves. Shortly I noticed an old Indian with his hand outstretched pointing in a northern direction motioning us to move that way. I knew at once he was a spirit and giving us directions to our objection so I mentioned this to the group and we moved north all giving thanks to the wise man as we passed him by, although none could see him but me. About two hundred yards north Madame Trinity came across an amazing find, the impression of a large foot print in the dried mud. It was the sole of a Bigfoot. The wise man was right, this was the way to go. Madame Trinity took several pictures while Gunn did a psychic reading of the print and determined it to be about five years old but got a strong impression that they were still in the area.

We carried on north and a quarter mile later came across a old path that cut north-east our original direction. We all felt this was intended, that our original direction was the right direction and that the spirit guide was merely helping us on our way by giving us an easier way to proceed. Now we moved on unimpeded and with ease. About twenty minutes later I started to notice a rather slight but foul smell but following directly behind Crank I didn’t think much of it. After all there are a couple of reasons he was given that nickname, and at breakfast I watched him devour four eggs a bowl of bran, and three orange juice. But the smell got stronger and then became mixed in with the sound of running water, and soon all in the party took note of the noxious odor and we stopped. Something was up and the fine hairs on my neck and arms came to attention.

I heard the sounds of shaking brush and the Scream of Madame Trinity simultaneously. Crank backed into me knocking me to the ground while Gunn stepped around me pulling Madame Trinity along for the ride so that now I had gone from last in line to being the forward lead. When I raised my head to gather my bearings and assess the situation I found myself staring up a creature some eight feet tall and full of hair standing twelve feet from where I sat in the dirt. We had found what we sought, it was Bigfoot.

Beware the Ides of March

All my life I have been surrounded by disbelievers. Some of my first doubters came from within my own family where when I would bring up the issue of talking to a recently departed uncle, I would get scolded and hit across the hands with a wooden spoon. I soon learned not to mention my uncle or any of the other spirits I saw, and would just pass them by with only a glance out of the corner of my eye. It was the old woman down the lane that was the first to give validation to my gift, for she had it to and recognized it in me. My mother called her a voodoo witch and I was told to stay away from her house out of fear of more rapped knuckles. But being young and adventurous I never heeded my mothers advice, and some of the best schooling in the field of paranormal studies were spent at her kitchen table reading old books on Haitian magic.

The next big bout of disbelievers were in the navy. I made the mistake of relating some information to my commander from a recently deceased team member and he hit the roof. The information was vital to our mission and crucial to saving lives. He failed to listen and we lost a couple more of our team. I took one in the shoulder myself. These were the early Reagan years and South America was a real hot bed of lead and deceit. Not an easy time for soldiers or psychics.

So it should come as no surprise that here on my own page I get disbelievers and critics who come at me with a wall of scientific theory that acts as a stopping point to transcendence. I have seen it all before both personally and in the works of such critics like Carl Sagan and Martin Gardner who blind with their own great theories can’t open their vision to the possibilities that lay beyond the seeing eye.. Let me lay down the forth coming pattern and see if I am right. You don’t need to have any special gifts for this and can reference some of the comments below in the last blog.

First I get a smart alec comment from Rick referring to the popular and very funny movie called Ghostbusters. This leaves the invitation open for other more sarcastic critics. It really is the finger in the dam syndrome of jumping on the band wagon and letting the water out. Next comes a comment from Julia that while sarcastic in tone I believe carries with it a genuine dissertation on the subject of knowledge. Unfortunately many people don’t have the mind to read a serious piece with tongue in cheek. Combine the first attack with the second misconception and the flood gates open for the most narrow minded commenter to arrive with their hard-line stances, here I refer to Mr. Smith. Mr. smith is the school yard bully in blog form. He tries to beat you with his tongue and deliver humiliation for being who you are. I have dealt with the Smith type my whole life and know their tactics inside and out. They use Science as their weapon never understanding that science does not have all the answers to life. I encounter the Smith kind in the afterlife where they refuse to acknowledge that they are dead and tend to wander aimlessly for generations before coming to terms with their mortality. Then you have the paradox, a man of wisdom and science with a strong dose of common sense and suspended judgment. This is the other Mr. Smith, and where he will eventually fall is anyone’s guess at this moment. Paradoxes want to believe but having been pushed by the bully types so much they tend to cling to the scientific and so called logical explanations that really explain nothing at all. Paradoxes can be friend or foe depending on their character and as is my nature I always give the paradox the benefit of the doubt for constructive discourse. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds, stay tuned, and thank you for coming. Peace and harmony in this life and the next.

From a early age I discovered I had the gift of second site and could see into the afterlife and communicate with and act as a medium for those who have passed on. I would like nothing more than to open the mind to the possibilities that lie beyond the seeing eye.
